1900 - 1949 1950 - 1999 2000 - today  

1919 - Rudolf Schuy Snr. starts a secondary raw material wholesaling business, concentrating mainly on low-grade material sorting.

1933 - Rudolf Schuy dies at the age of 44 years as a result of his wartime injuries.

Johanna Schuy (nee Orth) takes over as director of the company.

The company moves to a 20,000 m² modern industrial site in Oderstrasse.

1959 - Rudolf Schuy Jnr. and Thea Schuy become company partners.

1959 - 69 Consistent expansion of the company by Rudolf Schuy Jun., with a result that by 1969, 2,500 tons of scrap per month are already being handled.

1981 - Michael Schuy M.B.A. joins the company and is appointed Managing Director in 1991.

Between 1981 and 1999, the company doubles its land area with the purchase of Eisen Fischer's iron storage site in Schaumburgerstr., aa well as Wilhelm K.G.'s building yard in Weserstr..
At the same time, a complete modernization and expansion of the logistics operation, with new radio-linked trucks and computer systems.

1987 - 1991 Installation of PE film as environmental land protection and surface sealing of all the storage and operations areas.

1991 Installation of a 1,000 ton scrap shearer, together with cleaning and sorting machinery. This allows for a high quality sorted metal scrap supply to the iron and steel industries.

1992 Installation of a fully electronic certified weighbridge with calibrated printed output.

1997 Michael Schuy becomes a Council Member of the new BDSV, formed by the merger of the two big German metal-recycling umbrella organisations, the DSV and the BDS.

1999 Michael Schuy is nominated by the BDSVas their key representative within the ERA (European Ferrous Recovery and Recycling Federation) in Brussels.

1999 Certification as a environmental management company, including DIN/ISO 9002.

2000 Due to high demand, the installation of a new scrap metal baling press which forms high-value bales in a 30 x 30 x 30 cm. format.

Over 6,000 tons of scrap metal per month are being accepted, processed and then re-cycled.

Further investment in metal analysis, with the addition spektro-analysis and also a state-of-the-art Flourescent x-ray analyser.

HighTec-Analyse

This modern equipment has greatly expanded our ability to analyse metals - from measuring content of alloys, to Sampling Control and to testing for conformity to RoHS standards.

2007 - as a result of increased demand, a 2nd weighbridge is installed, enabling quicker turn-rounds for our own trucks and for our customers.

2007 - a 2nd scrap metal baling press (40x40x40cm) is installed, allowing an expansion in capacity of this high-value product.

2009 - A new Sennebogen 830 with 4m ground clearance is put into operation in May. With its excellent technical specification, including a 132 KW motor and wide radius of action, the S 830 greatly increases the flow of scrap to the main Lindemann scrap shearer.
